Bilal helps side win final of Low-goal polo

By Our Sports Reporter

LAHORE, March 29: Five-goal Bilal Haider Agha helped Technimen win the Low-goal polo cup beating Karachi Riding School by 8-7 in the final on Saturday that was decided on sudden death.

Both teams were locked at 1-1 in the first chukker as five-goal Mian Khurram Munir drew first blood for the losing side. Faisal Shahzad levelled the score for the winning team.

The winners were offensive in the second chukker, scoring four goals while conceding one to come ahead 5-2. Bilal fired three goals while Usman added one.

The losing side tried staging a comeback in the third chukker when Khurram and Kamran Zaidi scored one each to reduce the lead to 5-4.

The fight for supremacy was beefed up in the fourth chukker as Karachi School managed to restore the parity by scoring three against the conceded two. First Technimen’s Bilal and Usman consolidated the lead 7-4, adding one more goal apiece. But Khurram (2) and Kamran (1) helped Karachi bounce back to level the score and take the result to an extra fifth chukker, in which Bilal pumped in his fifth goal to seal the fate of the final.

Meanwhile Equestrian clinch the third spot by defeating Awan’s Own 9-3.
