ISLAMABAD, April 1: Federal Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said on Tuesday that armed forces would be strengthened in terms of resources and equipment to make the country’s defence impregnable.

He was talking to newsmen after assuming the charge of his ministry.

He said the defence would be strengthened because the country was confronting enormous internal and external challenges.

The minister held an introductory meeting with Defence Secretary Kamran Rasool and other senior officials.

Additional secretaries Maj-Gen Mir Haider Ali Khan and Rear Admiral Tanveer Faiz and all joint and deputy secretaries of the ministry attended the meeting.

Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain also assumed the charge of his ministry.
