LAHORE, April 2: Paceman Sohail Tanvir produced a devastating spell to help KRL rout Wapda by 184 runs Wapda in Super Eight round Group ‘A’ match of the National One-day Cup at the LCCA Ground on Wednesday.

The left-handed all-rounder returned remarkable figures of seven for 34 as Wapda crashed to 66 all out in 13.1 overs after being set a target of 251. Wapda are now out of contention for the semi-finals because they had also lost their first match to Rawalpindi Rams by two wickets on Monday.

Yasir Arafat, who shared the new ball, finished with two for 25 to put KRL on top of group standings with six points.But it was Sohail who stole the limelight by sending back the top five batsmen, including Wapda skipper Mohammad Yousuf who made just six he was caught in the slips by Bazid Khan.

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, Azhar Ali (88 off 87 balls, six fours) and Bazid (51 off 78 balls, four fours) lifted KRL out of trouble with a stand of 117 after the first three wickets had gone for 48 runs.
