U-21 snooker Pakistan team to leave tomorrow


KARACHI, April 2: A three-member Pakistan junior squad is due to leave for Yangon, Myanmar, on Friday to take part in the ninth Asian Under-21 snooker championship, starting from Saturday.

The team comprises the recently crowned National Champion Ayaz Khan, Pakistan number two Ahsan Javed and number three Mohammad Imran.

Thirty-two cueists representing 13 countries will be featuring in the eight-day competition.

All the three players are undergoing training at Karachi Club’s Amir Bakhsh Billiards Hall from former Pakistan number one Khurram Agha and team manager Wahid Qadir.

Ahsan Javed is drawn in Group ‘A’, Ayaz Khan is drawn in Group ‘B’ and Mohammad Imran is placed in Group ‘D’.

Two top players from each of the eight groups will qualify for the pre-quarter-final round.
