The miscreants fired several rockets from the surrounding hills at checkpost, housing paramilitary troops. Mohmand Rifles and Khasadar forces retaliated with rockets and large machineguns. The firing between security forces and militants continued for almost four hours. However, no causality was reported till filing of this report.

Also, a similar assault was made last night on the same checkpoint that too was countered by the security forces. In Haleemzai, Safi and Pindiali tehils of Mohmand Agency it was the only checkpost remained undamaged during the recent increase in the insurgency in the area.
