MANSEHRA, April 6: Six students of a seminary were killed and four others injured when they were struck by an avalanche in Kala Dhaka tribal area on Sunday.

Locals said that the students of Darul Alum Islami were returning home from the seminary when the avalanche triggered by rain and snowfall hit them.

The deceased students were identified as Mohammad Fiaz, Mohammad Amin, Mohammad Mahad, Mohammad Abidullah and Mohammad Abadullah.

Minister for Auqaf Nimroz Khan announced a compensation of Rs100,000 for each family of the deceased and Rs50,000 for the injured.—Correspondent
