HYDERABAD, April 12: Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has called upon the students, intellectuals and people from all walks of life to join hands for real development of institutions for benefit of common man.

He stated this after inaugurating a one-day art festival, organised by the faculty of arts, University of Sindh at Shaikh Ayaz auditorium in connection with the Sindh University founder’s week celebrations on Saturday. Intellectuals, scholars, university professors and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Mr Khuhro said that today democracy in the country has been restored due to the sacrifices of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who gave her life in the cause of democracy and empowerment of the people of the country.

Mr Khuhro said that every one has to work in a collective manner for the development of the country without wasting any time. He said that Sindh University has set a great tradition by celebrating founder’s week to pay homage to its founder vice chancellor Allama I.I.Kazi and added that the nation should never forget its heroes and benefactors.

He said that Sindh has produced people of high calibre, including educationists, politicians, scholars and added that these people deserved honour, respect and love. He said that it is of vital importance that people from every profession must contribute for the social, economic and educational development of the country in a sustainable manner.

Mr Khuhro paid rich tribute to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and said that we must work sincerely and honestly. He lauded the services of Allama I.I.Kazi, Dr N.A.Baloch and Sindh University and said that the University of Sindh is also unique in the world.

He appreciated services of Sindh University vice chancellor, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui and said that he has developed the university on excellent parameters and added that today the university is strict on attendance of the students, examination on time and teaching schedule.

Mr Khuhro announced that Benazir auditorium will be constructed in the university with accommodation of one thousand seats and added that he will request the concerned quarters for the purpose.

Learned scholar Dr N.A.Baloch highlighted services of the great scholar Allama I.I.Kazi and said that Allama Sahib was not only a visionary but also a missionary.

He said that the University of Sindh is celebrating founder’s week from April 9 on the day he took over the charge up to April 13, on the day of his death anniversary.

Sindh University vice chancellor, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, said that the intellectuals of the University of Sindh were benefiting not only in Pakistan but the world over.

He announced re-naming of Sindh University International Hostel as Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Hostel.

The Dean Faculty of Arts, Dr. M.Qasim Bughio, also spoke on the occasion.

Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro also visited Art Exhibition at Institute of Art and Design and attended reception of the Students at the boys hostel.
