KARACHI, April 19: Ten ships including a car carrier and a sugar loader to load 13,000 tons of sugar are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where eight ships, Caribbean Carrier and Shaheen al-Ghanim-10 to load cement and clinkers, Bunga Kantan Tiga to offload chemicals, Y.M. Improvement, Cape Arago, Far Singapore and Tenth Ocean to unload and load containers were berthed.
Sailing was also active as nine ships including Bangal Orchid, Iron Monger-2, Antwerp Ace, Emirates Wasi, As Mars, Thor Raw, Calvin P. Titus, Hyundai Future and Cape Argo departed on Saturday. Far Singapore, Tenth Ocean, Bunga Kantan Tiga, Oel Victory, Y.M. Improvement, Pacific Primate, Ultima, Shoko Maru, Star Zeta, Shaheen al-Ghanim, Banglar Makooh and Caribbean Carrier are due to sail out on Sunday.
A total tonnage of 90,899 tons comprising 55,051 tons of export cargo including 6,300 tons of cement, 12,700 tons of clinkers and 1,209 tons of sugar and 35,848 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Sunday: Marine Alliance with 893 cars, Mariana-2 to load 11,000 tons of cement, Banglar Maya to load 13,000 tons of sugar, Lalazar with crude oil, World Mejesty to load ethanol, Oel Strength, Harmony, Itha Bhum and Wan Hai-311 with containers.
