Inter-varsity volleyball begins

PESHAWAR, April 26: Pakistan inter-university volleyball championship being held under the aegis of the Sports Directorate, University of Peshawar, commenced here at the University Campus Courts on Saturday.

The opening match saw Bannu defeating Government College University, Lahore, 3-0, the score being 25-21, 25-16 and 25-16. Bannu led by Irfan, Niamatullah and Maqsood Ali exhibited an excellent game.

Their fine serves, blocks and spikes won them the match that was supervised by international referee Khalil-ur-Rehman along with Haider Iqbal and Imtiaz Khan.—APP
