ISLAMABAD, April 30: The Election Commission has set June 2 as the last date for receiving applications for postal ballot papers for by-elections to the national and provincial assemblies to be held on June 18.

According to Election Commission Secretary Kanwar Mohammad Dilshad, the facility is for people in government service and armed forces and holders of public offices stationed away from their constituencies and their families; prisoners and polling and police personnel deputed at polling stations outside their constituencies.

He advised the presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, polling officers and police personnel assigned at such polling stations to apply for postal ballots by June 7.
