HYDERABAD, May 5: A group of 60 girl students of Class-XI and XII from the County Cambridge College, Hyderabad, visited Centre of Excellence in Arts and Design (CEAD) and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology on Monday.
They visited galleries where CEAD students’ works have been displayed on various subjects. The visiting students showed keen interest in the disciplines being taught at CEAD.
They also visited well equipped laboratories of department of Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering and Bio-Medical Engineering of the MUET, and were briefed by senior faculty members about laboratories.
They also visited the central library/on-line information centre and the university auditorium, where the director of students’ affairs gave a presentation with regards to university and disciplines in which bachelor’s degree besides post-graduation programmes courses are being offered.
POINT BUSES: The University of Sindh has notified schedule of point buses during semester examinations scheduled to begin from May 8.
According to the notification, the university while revising routes fixed 34 students point buses routes during the semester examinations.
The students have been informed that for morning shift students, the point buses will ply from different routes of Hyderabad at 7.15 am to reach at the campus at 8am while after completion of papers of first shift all point buses would leave the campus at 1pm.
It further announced that point buses for students of evening shift appearing in semester examination will ply from different routes of Hyderabad city at 12.45pm (excluding Friday) and will return back to the campus at 5.30pm while on Friday, students point buses will ply at 1.30pm which will return back at 6p.m.
MUET EXAMS: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro has finalised arrangements for theory examinations of first term, third term, fifth term, seventh term of Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of City and Regional Planning and Bachelor of Architecture and ninety term of Bachelor of Architecture from May 12.
A meeting was held at the campus to discuss security arrangements during semester examinations. The meeting was informed that semester examinations will be conducted in 17 examination centres while 18,750 male and female students will appear in the examinations.
The officials of examination department informed that admit cards to candidates have been issued through their respective teaching institutes and departments adding that without admit cards no candidate would be allowed to appear in the examination.
With regards to security arrangements, the meeting decided that no outsider will be allowed at the campus during the examination hours while senior faculty members of each institutes and departments will check admit cards of students at main entry point of the centres.
The meeting decided that student buses would be plied from different parts of the city as well as for teachers and staff.
The meeting was attended by the Registrar, various heads of institutes and departments and other concerned officials.
