RAWALPINDI, May 12: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif and President Mian Shahbaz Sharif on Monday filed their nomination papers for NA-52 and PP-10 Rawalpindi-10 respectively for June 26 bye-election.

NA-52 was vacated by Ch Nisar Ali Khan while PP-10 by MNA Malik Abrar Ahmed.

Shahbaz Sharif was flanked by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and other local leaders of the PML-N.

A citizen of Rawalpindi submitted his objection to the nomination of the PML-N president saying he was involved in the mob attack on Supreme Court in 1997 as he arranged food for the attackers in the Punjab House in Islamabad.

Others who filed their nomination papers for PP-10 on Monday included Hafiz Abdullah Butt, Raja Ishfaq Sarwar, Qaiser Mehmood Khan and Malik Iftikhar. Malik Iftikhar filed his papers as a covering candidate to Shahbaz Sharif.

Those who filed their papers for NA-55 included Sarfaraz Nawaz the famous cricketer, Hafiz Abdullah Butt and Gulzar Awan.

Other nominees from NA-52 are President PML-Q Muhammad Nasir Raja and Waheed Awan.
