ISLAMABAD, May 12: Supreme Court Bar Association president Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan has said reinstatement of the deposed judges did not need 30 days or 12 days, but only an executive order from the prime minister; which should have been issued in tandem with the announcement of setting the judges free.

He told Geo News in an interview that conspiracies were being hatched against democracy and not reinstating the deposed judges was an injustice to the popular mandate.

He regretted that the May 12 deadline had also passed away without the restoration of the judiciary.

Mr Ahsan said that a decision about lawyers’ future line of action would be taken by the All Pakistan Representatives Convention to be held in Lahore on May 17.—APP
