PARACHINAR, May 13: Six people including a woman were wounded in the ongoing clashes between two rival tribes in the Upper Kurram tribal region on Tuesday.

According to doctors, two seriously wounded people were brought to the agency headquarters hospital in Parachinar.

Sources said sporadic clashes continued between the residents of Piwar and Tari Mingal areas of the Upper Kurram, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Both side were using heavy weapons and targeting each others positions.

Negotiations between the rival groups in Peshawar had been stalled due to the clashes. They said that representatives of one tribe had refused to start negotiations unless the government took measures to stop the clashes.— Correspondent
