SHC bar’s plea to CJ

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, May 13: The Sindh High Court Bar Association requested SHC Chief Justice Mohammad Afzal Soomro on Tuesday ‘not to undertake judicial work’.

A resolution unanimously passed by the SHCBA managing committee, which met on Tuesday morning under the chairmanship of the association’s president, Justice (retired) Rasheed A. Razvi, said that the association was continuously receiving complaints against Mr Justice Mohammad Afzal Soomro.

“In view of the reports that a reference under Article 209 of the Constitution has been filed against the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Mr Justice Mohammad Afzal Soomro, the chief justice, in all fairness, should not undertake judicial work,” said the committee.
