KARACHI, May 14: Four policemen were injured, two of them seriously, in an accident near Metropole intersection in the jurisdiction of Artillery Maidan police station on Wednesday morning.

The duty officer at the police station said that a mobile van of the Mohafiz Force collided with a Jeep (No.BD-6371). Four occupants of the van — head-constable Yaqoob Shahid and constables Shahid Gujjar, Mohammad Asif and Zarif Khan — sustained injuries and were rushed to the JPMC.

He quoted hospital sources as saying that the condition of two of the injured was precarious. The policemen were posted at Hassan Square. Owner of Jeep Kamran s/o Sheikh Nisar, was arrested and an FIR (74/2008) was registered against him.—PPI
