ISLAMABAD, May 14: Majid Khan of Pakistan knocked out Lewys Hurst of Wales in straight sets to enter the semi-finals of the President PSF International squash championship at the Jansher Khan Squash Complex, Abbottabad, on Wednesday.

Hurst was the only foreign player left in the tournament. Majid took 26 minutes to overcome him 11-7, 11-8, 11-2.

In the other quarter-finals in which all the contesting players were from Pakistan, Farhan Mehboob defeated Arshad Iqbal Burki 10-11 (4-6), 11-4, 11-8, 11-5 in 38 minutes.

Yasir Butt, ranked 48th in the world circuit, beat Amjad Khan 11-6, 11-6, 4-11, 11-9 in 34 minutes.

Waqar Mehboob trounced Bilal Zaman 11-6, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6.

The semi-finals will be played on Thursday with Farhan Mehboob taking on Majid Khan while Yasir Butt face Waqar Mehboob.—Agencies
