MIRPURKHAS, May 30: Changing Coordinator of the National Mango and Summer Fruit Festival may adversely affect festival as it has been done only a week before the event.

Secretary Sindh, Agriculture Department on Friday appointed Hidayatullah Chhajro, Director General Agriculture Research Institute Tando Jam as the Coordinator, replacing DCO Mirpurkhas Dr Abdul Rahim Soomro assigned the job last week. The five-day festival begins on June 6.

The new government replaced the Chairman Festival Committee Anwar Gondal along with his team and appointed DCO Mirpurkhas Dr Abdul Rahim Soomro Coordinator of the Committee, while EDO Agriculture Yar Muhammad Khaskheli Secretary and 15 members of Management Committee.

In a recent move, Secretary Agriculture Sindh, Sabhago Khan Jatoi replaced Dr Abdul Rahim Soomro Coordinator.

The new festival committee would include, District Nazim Mirpurkhas Dr Sughra Junejo as Chairman, while DG Agriculture Research Tandojam Hidayatullah Chhajro, as Coordinator, EDO Agriculture Extension Department Yar Muhammad Khaskheli as Secretary.

Sources said a cold war between provincial and district governments and frequent changes in festival committee would affect arrangements.
