HYDERABAD, May 30: The Sindh Culture Department is destroying Sindh Museum and discouraging artisans, artists, singers, and writers, said officials of Pakistan Heritage, Preservation and Promotion Society.

Appointments made in Sindh Museum and other cultural organizations in the last days of Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim’s government should be cancelled and artisan centers established to promote cultural heritage of Sindh like Khes and Ajrak, said Abdul Razzak Chandio, Nasreen Wafai, Yawar Ali Kazmi and others.

They called for halting construction of new buildings by the Culture Department as many existing buildings were lying vacant and this money could be spent on the development and preservation of cultural heritage.—Bureau
