BATKHELA, June 1: Tehrik Nifaz Sharait-i-Muhammadi (TNSM) chief Maulana Sufi Mohammad has made it clear that enforcement of Sharia is impossible till the restoration of complete peace in the region.

Addressing a press conference at his office in Amandara on Saturday, TNSM chief said that recent clashes by some people with the security forces and local administration in the region was the result of the lack of understanding about the Islamic system.

He said that government agreed with the TNSM only on setting up ‘Sharia courts’ in the region. With the change of courts in accordance with Islamic Sharia all other problems would be solved by themselves, he added.

He said all those people and groups who were still creating law and order situation in the region despite clear stance of the present government regarding enforcement of Sharia were not devoted to implementation of Islamic system.

He said such elements were out to follow their own agenda and people should be aware of them.

Maulana Sufi said that security forces and executive should be provided peaceful atmosphere to enforce Sharia laws in the region.

He informed reporters that Amir Izat was the secretary information of TNSM and no body could issue statements except him.

Earlier, the meeting of

TNSM executive committee was held at its office in Amandara.

A committee was constituted in the meeting for holding talks with government team on various issues regarding progress in the ongoing peace process.

TNSM vice chief Maulana Mohammad Alam and former deputy commissioner Ghulam Rasool of Maidan will lead the committee. Other members of the committee include Maulana Abdul Haq, Maulana Bachazeb, Maulana Samiullah, Maulana Salar Buner, Maulana Sami Ullah, Maulana Noor Nabi and Mohammad Anwar.

To a question Maulana Sufi said that people instead of demanding reinstatement of deposed judges should demand enforcement of Sharia which according to him was the only solution to all the confronting challenges.

To another query, he said that he had not yet read the proposed Sharia law package approved by the government, adding that TNSM Shura would take final decision after thorough studying the copy of the package.
