ISLAMABAD, June 4: A man was found hanging in a wooded area here on Wednesday, police said.
The incident came to light when some passers-by informed the police that a decomposed body was hanging from a tree near PTV-2 offices in Sector H-9/4.
The police arrived at the scene and shifted the body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for pending identification and legal process.
According to the police, the body seems to be four to five days old. Apparently, the man was strangulated but the actual cause of death will be ascertained after an autopsy.
Nothing was found from the body, except two cigarettes and a cap, the police said, adding that it looked like someone or killer(s) removed every thing from his pockets that could have led his identification.
Meanwhile, a man whose burnt body was found from a servant quarter of a government official’s flat in Sector F-6/4 on June 1, was identified as Malik Riaz, a property dealer.
A post-mortem on the body suggested that he was murdered before being burnt. The police investigation said he was shot dead by a man with whom he shared the quarter after a scuffle.
The police arrested the accused (AA) from Swabi and recovered the murder weapon, a 30-bore pistol, and the deceased’s motorcycle on which the accused escaped from the capital city.
