LAHORE, June 7: The lawyers have planned to hold car and motorcycle rallies on Monday in the city in run up to the June 10 long march in protest against the delay in the restoration of the deposed judges.

This was decided in a Supreme Court Bar Association meeting held under its vice-president Ghulam Nabi Bhatti here on Saturday. SCBA media adviser Mohammad Azhar Siddique, Khwaja Tariq Suhail and Rana Farman Ali Sabir also attended the meeting.

The meeting reviewed the arrangements for the long march and expressed satisfaction over completion of contact campaign aimed at involving traders, students, representatives of civil society, Ulema, labour unions and farmers. The meeting was apprised of the protest to be held on Sunday (today) in front of the Governor's House for the restoration of the deposed judges.

The meeting noted with concern that 24 constitutional amendments proposed in the PPP package out of the total 80 were related to the judiciary.
