HYDERABAD, July 2: Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party chairman, Dr Qadir Magsi, has said that oppressed nations were not satisfied with the present federal structure and if structural changes were not made in the system, integrity of the country would be in danger.

He was speaking at a meeting of the central body of his party held at Taraqi Pasand House here on Wednesday.

He said due to the hegemony of a province, an exploitative system had been thrust upon the oppressed nations.

By giving the name of federation to the present system, the ground realities cannot be camouflaged, Magsi said.

He said, in the past, religion was used as a weapon and today nations were being exploited in the name of ‘national security’ and ‘fear of Martial Law’.

He said the oppressed nations wanted to remain in this system as equal partners and autonomous entities and added that if the rulers wanted to extricate the country from crises, then they should give autonomy to the federating units in accordance with the 1940 Resolution.

He demanded restoration of November 2 judiciary and its independence which, he said, was the only way to enforce justice and rule of law.

The PPP had betrayed the people of Sindh by entering into an agreement with Musharraf, the MQM and establishment and by continuing the policies of the dictator, the STP chairman said.

He said the PPP government had failed to provide any relief to the people.

He appealed to the people of Sindh to wake up and unite on one platform to tackle the national issues.

The meeting supported the strike call of transporters for July 10 to protest against the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel.
