HYDERABAD, July 3: The government is keen on providing basic facilities to people of backward areas, said Sindh Minister for Rural Development, Zubair Ahmed Khan while visiting different areas of Qasimabad to have first hand information regarding their problems.

He visited Sheedi Goth and Waqar Town of UC-1 and heard the problems of people regarding water supply, drainage system, gas supply and provision of electricity poles and connections.

He met inhabitants of Sheedi Village and Waqar Town and said the village would have modern roads and issued orders to concerned officials on spot to solve the problems of people on priority basis.

Later, he visited the UC-4 which comprises 56 villages and discussed their problems and was informed that five primary schools of UC were lying closed due to absenteeism and ghost teachers.

In UC-4 Provincial Minister Zubair Ahmed Khan visited Goth Kirir Solangi, Goth Shah Bukhari and Goth Dittal Chandio and was told by the dwellers of the area that about 56,000 people were deprived of basic necessities, including gas, drainage and water supply.

The minister issued orders on spot to solve all problems on priority basis and announced that all villages would be provided health centre, utility store and pakka streets. He further said that his ministry was keen on resolving the problems of rural areas.

He also took round of Latifabad, Hyderabad City and Hyderabad rural talukas and inspected different ongoing schemes and got feedback from the people of area and inquired about their problems.

The minister directed the officers concerned not to compromise on the quality of work and ensure proper utilization of government funds. He also asked representatives of local bodies to submit their proposals for rural development-oriented schemes to facilitate people at par with urban areas.
