KPT beat PIA in PPFL opener

KARACHI, July 22: The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) beat Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) 1-0 in the Karachi match, one of the two encounters on the opening day of the Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) 2008, at the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The winning goal was scored by KPT’s striker Zafar Majeed in the 33rd minute.

Meanwhile, Afghan FC, the only team from Balochistan suffered frustration when Faisalabad’s Punjab Medical College beat them 2-1 at the Government High School Ground, Afghan Club home ground at Chaman.

Wednesday’s fixture: National Bank of Pakistan v Karachi Electric Supply Corporation at 5.30pm at the Korangi Baloch Stadium, Karachi.
