LAHORE, July 24: Robbers looted gold bars and jewellery weighing 10 kilo worth over Rs20 million from a Karachi-based trader near Baghe-i-Jinnah in the limits of Civil Lines police early on Thursday.

The police said the victim Muhammad Amir was coming from Kalma Chowk on a taxi when four robbers, riding a car (LWL-5150), stopped the taxi at gunpoint on Lawrence Road. The robbers snatched his bag containing gold and a cell phone and escaped.

A case was registered.

Two robbers stopped Muhammad Zahid in the limits of Sanda police and snatched Rs200, a cell phone and his bike. As many robbers stopped Asif Ejaz in the jurisdiction of Sabzazar police and snatched his motorcycle.

HOUSE ROBBERY: Two robbers stormed into the house of Muhammad Shafique in J-Block of Johar Town in the jurisdiction of Sattokatla police and took away Rs40,000, 30 tola gold ornaments and three cell phones.

WIDOW’S CLAIM: The wife of a 45-year-old drug addict has accused the management of a local rehabilitation center of killing her husband during treatment.

The police said victim Tahir Khan, of Township, was drug addict. His family got admitted him to a drug rehabilitation center situated near Muhammadi Park, Sattokatla.

Some days ago, his condition became critical during treatment and on Thursday he breathed his last.

The deceased’s wife however, claimed that her husband died due to gross negligence of the rehabilitation center management.
