ISLAMABAD, July 25: The Jammu and Kashmir People’s Muslim League (JKPML) on Friday released 20 point charge-sheet against the Azad Kashmir government containing serious allegations of financial corruption, nepotism and abuse of power.

Distributing copies of the charge-sheet at a press conference, JKPML chief and former AJK prime minister Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry said the copies of the charge-sheet had been sent to the federal government, AJK president and ‘important personalities’.

Accusing the AJK government of corruption to the tune of Rs10 billion, he warned that the opposition would go to the last extent to topple the Muslim Conference government in AJK, if it failed to respond to the charge-sheet released on the completion of two years in power.

He said the government led by Sardar Attique supported the unpopular formula of self-governance and joint control, deviating from the principled stand on Kashmir.

He said the government had to obtain an overdraft of Rs5.4 billion due to its luxuries. He said Sardar Attique formed the largest ever cabinet comprising 29 ministers to save his government while the total strength of Muslim Conference and its allies was 35.

He alleged that the government purchased cars worth millions in the last two years in collusion with some bureaucrats during the last two years and tried to sell them at a throwaway price.

He also accused the incumbent AJK prime minister of misappropriation of millions of rupees from Zakat and secret funds. He alleged that substandard material was being used in Mangla Dam upraising project and warned that a large part of Punjab would be affected in case of damage caused to the Mangla Dam.
