QUETTA, Aug 11: Balochistan coalition parties have included some provincial issues in the proposed resolution to be moved in the provincial assembly against President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday.
A meeting of parliamentary leaders of the coalition government was held here on Monday, presided over by Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani. The meeting discussed a draft of the resolution and decided to send a requisition to the governor to convene the assembly session.
The issue of military operation, killing of Nawab Mohammad Akbar Khan Bugti and others, arrest and kidnapping of a large number of political leaders have been made part of the resolution.
The meeting decided that the resolution would propose that President Musharraf be made accountable for committing atrocities against the people of Balochistan.
According to informed sources, the parliamentary leader of a group of Pakistan Muslim League (Q), a member of the Balochistan Assembly, Sheikh Jaffar Kahn Mandokhel, and a member of rival PML-Q group, headed by Speaker Mohammad Aslam Raisani, also attended the meeting.
The sources said that the group led by Mr Bhootani assured the meeting that it would support the resolution. However, the other group has not taken a final decision so far.
The meeting decided that a delegation of coalition parties, led by Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, will visit Islamabad after the assembly session to meet Balochistan MNAs and senators of PML-Q to muster their support for the impeachment move.
Meanwhile, the deputy parliamentary leader of PPP in Balochistan Assembly, Mir Sadiq Umrani, told newsmen that coalition partners had decided to move a joint resolution in the provincial assembly against President Musharraf.
He said the meeting noted that President Musharraf was responsible for the military operation, killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti and other people in the province. He said President Musharraf’s policies had brought the country on the verge of economic collapse.
