BEIJING, Aug 16: Usain Bolt of Jamaica produced a stunning performance to win the men’s 100 metres Olympic title here on Saturday in a new world record time of 9.69 seconds.
Bolt, who held the old record of 9.72 seconds, beat Richard Thompson of Trinidad (9.89 seconds) while Walter Dix of the US was third in a time of 9.91 seconds. “I felt the world record earlier on,” said Bolt, the first Jamaican to win the title.—AFP
