TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 19: The Faisalabad anti-terrorism court judge on Tuesday sent a cleric and seven students of a religious seminary to jail on a two-week judicial remand.

Maulana Muhammad Ashraf of Arabia Islamia seminary in Talab Bazaar, who is also prayer leader at DHQ Hospital mosque, and Luqman, Sajjad Waqas, Yasir, Nasrullah, Ijaz Masood, Noaman Aslam and Ashraf Majeed were booked on Monday for providing assistance to Taliban militants to fight against Pakistani security agencies in Wazirisitan. The city police had registered a case against them under Section 11-V of Anti-Terrorism Act.

Main suspect and prominent cleric Maulana Mateeur Rehman Abbassi and a student Abdul Mughees are still at large.
