LAHORE/KARACHI, Aug 21: Governor Salmaan Taseer announced on Thursday Punjab PPP parliamentary party’s decision to nominate co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari as presidential candidate, claiming that all allies of the PPP had agreed to the proposal.

He said the decision, taken through a resolution adopted unanimously by the parliamentary party, would be submitted to PPP’s Central Executive Committee at its meeting to be held in Islamabad on Friday.

PPP parliamentary party in the Sindh assembly also decided to nominate Mr Zardari as the presidential candidate, adds APP.

A resolution to this effect was adopted unanimously at a meeting held at the Chief Minister House.
