KARACHI, Aug 30: Karachi Kickers beat Usmanabad Union 3-2 and Maymar Sports beat Ghani XI 1-0 in the two KASB Premier League Football (PLF) matches played at the GDGK stadium on Friday night.

It was the third consecutive win for Karachi Kickers, who now have nine points whereas even after playing two matches, Usmanabad Union have yet to open their account.

Noor ul Haq, Abdullah Amin and Fareed Alam scored for Karachi Kickers and Imran Sr and Liaquat Hussain contributed for Usmanabad. The first goal came in the 22nd minute when a tussle between Usmanabad Union’s Akhtar Ali and Kickers striker Fareed Alam in the penalty area resulted in referee Mohammad Ashraf’s awarding a penalty kick to Kickers, converted easily by their defender Noor ul Haq.

Six minutes later, Usmanabad’s strikers Imran Sr and Liaquat Hussain and midfielder Noor Baksh while exchanging passes reached the box where Imran sent the ball past goalkeeper Mohammad Ibrahim in order to level the score, which remained so at interval.

In the 48th minute, midfielder Mohammad Khan’s through pass was received well and converted by Kickers’ Abdullah Amin to make the score 2-1.

This was followed by their striker Fareed Alam succeeding in diverting Abdullah’s cross towards the goal in the 55th minute.

The goal takes Fareed Alam’s individual score to four. He now shares the position of top scorer with Karachi United’s Daniyal Alvi, also at four.

Usmanabad could only manage to reduce the deficit with a second goal that came through their striker Liaquat Hussain in the final moments of the match.

The other match between District Central Champions Maymar Sports and District West champions Ghani XI was won by Maymar 1-0 thanks to the all important lone goal coming through their spearhead Noor Ali in the 87th minute of play.
