KHAIRPUR, Sept 26: Bodies of a woman and her minor daughter were fished out from Rohri canal near Nao Lakhi regulator in the jurisdiction of the Ranipur police station on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Khalida Bibi and five-year-old Aqsa.

Talking to reporters on Friday, the father of the woman, Imam Ali Shah, and her brother, Nizam Ali Shah, accused the husband of the deceased, Majid Shah, of killing his wife, daughter and a son, Ali Shah, some two to three days and had thrown their bodies in the canal.

They alleged that Majid Shah had been torturing his wife for quite sometime.

They informed the reporters that after the incident Majid Shah and his family members had been missing and the houses in Azam Shah Colony were locked.

The brother of the victim said that his seven-year-old niece Sawera Shah was also missing and the body of Ali Shah, 3, could not be found.

They also accused the police of non-cooperation as according to them, Imam Ali Shah went to the B-section police station Khairpur on Friday to lodge an FIR but the police refused to do so.

Nazim Shah appealed to the relevant authorities to help them lodge an FIR against the culprits.

DPO Khairpur has directed the SHOs of B-section and Piryaloi police to conduct an inquiry into the matter.

The bodies were laid to rest in a graveyard in Bindi Kandhir village on late Thursday evening. However, no case was registered till the filing of this report.
