PPP SENATOR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Dr Safdar Abbasi says the party belonged to diehard and devoted workers who had sacrificed their lives and properties for the party, and nobody will be allowed to ignore their say in the party.

Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, Dr Abbasi said his family had always supported the Bhutto family and vowed that they would never betray the party.

He said had the plan envisaged by Benazir Bhutto in 1993-94 to overcome power loadshedding been implemented, the nation would have not seen the crisis at its worst nowadays. He said still that plan could rid the country of the menace of outages if executed.

He ruled out the impression that he and his wife, Naheed Khan, were being ignored by the party high-command after the assassination of Ms Benazir, and said the party leadership knew better to whom they should assign any task regarding party affairs.

He said he and his wife were ideological party workers and they had nothing to do with government offices.
