HYDERABAD, Oct 6: The test for admissions to Masters Degree programmes in the University of Sindh will be held on October 19, and for admissions to Sindh University, Laar College Badin on October 23.

The test for admissions to Bachelors Degree programmes at the University of Sindh will be conducted on November 2.

Director admissions, University of Sindh on Monday notified that the last date for submission of admissions forms to Bachelors and Masters classes in the university and Sindh University Laar College Badin for session 2009 has been fixed as October 9.

He further announced that the candidates can deposit their admission forms at the University or through courier service and registered post with required documents to director admissions. Admissions forms are available at the prescribed branches of Habib Bank.

The candidates can also download admissions forms from official website of the university at www.usindh.edu.pk.

APTITUDE TEST: Director, Institute of Art and Design, University of Sindh has notified that aptitude test for admissions to BFA Part-I for session 2009 will be conducted on October 29.

Interested candidates have been advised to contact director of the institute on telephone No. 022-92393039 for further information.

LUMHS: Vice Chancellor Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Prof Noshad Ahmed Shaikh chaired a meeting on Monday to review arrangements regarding forthcoming entry test of MBBS/BDS for 2008-09 to be held on October 12, at LUMHS Jamshoro.

He said that the test will be held in a transparent manner and security and seating arrangement for students and parents will be made foolproof. There will be strict vigilance to avoid any mishap and injustice, he said.

Director Admissions, Mumtaz Channa gave detailed briefing on entry test process and said measures will be taken to keep the test transparent and list of eligible applicants will be displayed on university website for the convenience of students.

Eligible students will get their admit slips from designated bank. He further informed that the process of entry test had been computerized from submission of form up to the final result to keep it transparent.

The meeting was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Azam Hussain Yousfani, Registrar Syed Ghulam Kadir Shah, Controller of Examinations Hafeez Soomro, Prof Rafiq Memon, Prof Rafiq Soomro, Prof Madam Shaheen Shah, Deputy Director Finance Asif Abbasi.

The Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has stressed upon the students to focus on studies by attending their classes regularly for a bright future.

He said this while addressing students of various institutes and departments during a surprise visit on Monday. He was inspecting the teaching activities after Eid holidays.

He visited the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Institute of Commerce and Institute of English Language and Literature, departments of Economics, International Relations, Public Administration Sociology, General History, Social Work, Sindhi, Urdu, Philosophy, Psychology, Islamic Culture and Political Science.

The vice chancellor visited all classes of the teaching departments of Social Sciences, Islamic Studies, Commerce and Business Administration, while exchanging Eid greetings with students and faculty members.

He asked the students to convey his message to others as well. He advised the teachers to regularly take classes even if one student was present.

Sindh University Registrar, Mohammad Saleh Rajar and the dean of Faculty of Arts Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio accompanied the vice chancellor during his visit.
