Bomb hoaxers sent to jail

RAWALPINDI, Oct 7: An anti-terrorism court here on Tuesday sent two alleged bomb hoaxers to central jail Adiala on 14 days judicial remand after they were arrested from Chakwal on Monday.

The suspects Naeem Abbas and Mubashir Hassan made calls to the Imam of Faisal Mosque on September 26 and said there was a bomb planted in the mosque. The call forced evacuation from the mosque and bomb disposal squad carried complete search of the worship place. But later it appeared a hoax call. Margalla police booked the two men for making threatening calls and spreading terror. The accused were traced through their cellphones and were arrested on Monday from Chakwal.

Meanwhile an additional sessions judge (ASJ) issued the arrest warrants of three policemen for not appearing in the court to record their statements in a drugs case registered with Westridge Police Station.

ASJ Khalid Mehmood Ranjha issued arrest warrants of sub inspector Mohammad Ilyas, constables Mohammad Shah and Waqar Haider for not recording their statements despite repeated summons in a case registered against Nawaz for carrying charas.

In another case ASJ Ghulam Mehdi Khan served a show-cause notice on the station house officer (SHO) of Airport Police asking him to explain why a case had not been registered despite the orders of the court.

Tabarak Hussain has obtained orders from court about registration of a criminal case against five men for allegedly trying to occupy his house but police failed to honour the court orders. He moved the court for execution of the orders.
