LAHORE, Oct 15: An exhibition of photographs titled ‘Unesco World Heritage in Germany’ will open at National College of Arts (NCA) on Oct 20.

Thirty two photographs will be put on display during the exhibition organised by the German Cultural Centre in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German Commission for Unesco and the NCA.

Unesco is involved in preservation of cultural heritage and promotion of cultural diversity around the world. In 1972, the organisation adopted the convention concerning the protection of the world cultural and natural heritage in Paris. It thereby took on the task of protecting cultural and natural assets of humanity that are deemed to possess ‘exceptional universal value’. To date, over 180 countries have ratified the convention.
