DHAKA, Oct 30: Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak has been reported for a suspect bowling action after his team’s second Test against New Zealand, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said Thursday.
“Razzak was reported by umpires Daryl Harper of Australia and Asoka de Silva of Sri Lanka after the second Test which finished in Dhaka on Wednesday,” the ICC statement said.
This is the second time the 26-year-old has been reported for suspect action. He had to undergo corrective measures in 2004 before he was cleared.
“In their report the umpires explained they had concerns over the player’s faster ball and decided it was appropriate. The delivery should be scrutinized further under the relevant ICC process,” the council’s statement said. Razzak will be subject to the ICC’s process on suspect bowling action. The time limit for the analysis is 21 days and a report must be filed with the ICC within 14 further days, the ICC said.—AFP
