SUKKUR, Oct 31: Sardar Rahim Bux Bozdar, Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) MPA, and chief of Bozdar tribe was detained by Ghotki police on Friday.
However, he was released later after he assured the police that he will fix a date in two days for a reconciliation meeting to resolve a bloody dispute between Bozdar and Gadani clansmen.
According to informed sources, a heavy contingent of police raided Garhi Chakar, the village of Sardar Bozdar, picked him up and took him to the DPO Ghotki office where he was kept under detention for about two and half hours.
He was released after he assured the DPO that he would fix the date of a reconciliation meeting within two days to end bloody dispute between Bozdar and Gadani clansmen. Sources further said that1 5 days ago, police had also detained chief of Gadani clan Sardar Badshah Khan and he had assured the DPO that he was ready to make efforts to resolve dispute with Bozdar clan immediately.
When contacted, Ghotki DPO Irfan Baloch denied that Mr Bozdar had been detained and said that he had rather called him in his office to get his consent about reconciling dispute with Gadani clansmen. He added that Mr Bozdar has sought two days time to give the date for reconciliation of the matter.
Bozdar and Gadani clansmen are at war for the last one year after the killing of a robber Manzoor Gadani by Bozdar clansmen and since then, seven people from the both sides have lost their lives and several others have been injured.
CLASH: Six people, including a woman were injured in an armed clash between two groups of Golo community over a minor issue at Ali Wahan in Rohri police limits near Sukkur, late on Thursday.
Two groups of Golo community attacked each other with wooden sticks and hatchets resulting in injuries to six people, including a woman.
Those injured were shifted to , Rohri taluka hospital.
No case was registered.
