DADU, Nov 2: A large number of activists of Pakistan People’s Party staged a demonstration in Mehar on Sunday to protest against ‘sale’ of jobs in police and population welfare departments.
Without naming anyone, they alleged that government officials had given jobs to people by charging some price.
They complained that some Pakistan Muslim League-Q people from Johi were given jobs while many PPP activists were ignored.
They appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari to take action against the officials and ensure that recruitment in government departments must be made on merit.
Meanwhile, dozens of handicapped persons took out a rally here on Sunday in protest against neglecting them in government jobs. They were led by office-bearers of Handicapped Association, Nazeer Ahmed Solangi, Lalo Azam Panhwar, Noor Mohammad Panhwar and Mohammad Hanif Birhamani.
Mr Solangi said that officers were neglecting the handicapped persons in recent recruitment process and denying two per cent quota reserved for them.
