KARACHI, Nov 8: Holders Punjab retained their men’s and women’s team event gold medals in the third Inter-provincial Youth Games squash competition which concluded at the Peshawar’s Hashim Khan Squash Complex the other day.

According to information made available here on Saturday, hosts NWFP secured silver while Sindh settled for bronze in the men’s team event.

The silver and bronze in the women’s went to Sindh and NWFP respectively. Balochistan did not take part in the event.

Sindh, it may be mentioned, had secured two silvers in the last games held at Lahore.

The squash event of the games was organised earlier to avoid clash with the Pakistan Open.

The Inter-provincial games formally open at Peshawar on Sunday at 10.00am.

Meanwhile, a full dress rehearsal for the opening ceremony was held at the Qayoom Stadium, Peshawar, on Saturday.

All the three contingents including Balochistan, have also reached Peshawar.
