Six booked in rape case

UMERKOT, Nov 13: Police on the directives of sessions judge, registered a rape case against six accused here on Thursday.

A female resident of Mangal Oad Brick Kiln near Umerkot approached the Sessions Court and filed an application U/S 22-A to order registration of an FIR for kidnapping and raping her daughter.

She narrated in the application that they worked at the brick kiln of Mangal Oad. At the night of November 10, Mangal Oad accompanied by Chatoon, Lachhio, Chandan, Anwar Bajeer and Sheru Khoso kidnapped her daughter and Mangal criminally assaulted her in a ditch near the kiln.

Next day, her daughter was found in an unconscious state in the ditch, stated her mother. Having the perusal of application and arguments of counsel of the applicant, Sessions Judge Khan Ubedullah Khan ordered Umerkot police to register a rape case under section 365(b) and 376(i) of the PPC against six accused. Mangal Oad told Dawn that the family in question had taken Rs300,000 loan from him and with the intention to usurp they were accusing him of rape.—A Correspondent
