Clash leaves one dead, four hurt

JACOBABAD, Dec 4: A man was killed and four others, including two women, suffered injuries in Saleh Malik village in a clash between Jafri and Malik groups on Thursday.

The rival groups used rockets in the clash. According to reports an old dispute between the two groups resurfaced after six months when Jafris attacked Malik’s village.

One Sain Bux Jafri was seriously injured and four, including two women, received injuries. The injured were shifted to a Larkana hospital where Sain Bux died.

According to police when the body was brought to the village, Mohammad Amin, Shah Murad Jafri with their companions attacked the houses of Khabar, Akbar, Asghar Malik.

Maliks had reportedly fled their homes before the attack leaving behind their valuables. The enraged Jafris burnt down Maliks’ houses and occupied their land.

Jafris opened fire on police when DPO reached there with heavy contingent, police said.

But police left the area without taking any action. Police have, however, lodged an FIR against 50 unidentified men.
