Dialogue on child rights

SHIKARPUR, Dec 4: The Society for Protection of Rights of the Child in collaboration with the Child Rights Committee organised a dialogue on “Children’s Rights and Responsibilities of Society” at Shikarpur Gymkhana on Thursday.

DPO Khadim Hussain Rind who was chief guest at the function lamented non-cooperation of civil society with police and said that police could curb crimes through cooperation and support of people.

He claimed that police had succeeded in controlling social evils and criminal activities to a great extent in the district. A women complaint centre established at the police headquarters was running successfully and was providing legal help to women and children, he said.

He said that the authorities concerned had failed to get school buildings vacated, which had been under occupation of landlords and criminals who used them as Autaqs and hideouts, particularly in the katcha areas.
