Jayasuriya picked for tri-series

COLOMBO, Dec 4: Sanath Jayasuriya has been recalled to Sri Lanka’s one-day squad for a tri-series with Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in January.

Jayasuriya, 39, was rested for the recent five-match One-day International series in Zimbabwe but will return for the limited-overs leg of Sri Lanka’s Bangladesh tour.

Mahela Udawatte, 22, has been dropped to make room for Jayasuriya, who has 421 caps.

Fast bowler Chaminda Vaas also returns after a rest but he was selected only for the two-match Test series which starts on Dec 26 in Dhaka. The second Test begins on Jan 3 in Chittagong while the one-day triangular series will be played from Jan 10 to 16.
