GUJRANWALA, Dec 15: A trader who was reportedly kidnapped by unidentified outlaws a week back was found murdered near Ghakkhar Town on Monday.

Reports said, Nawaz Ansari of Kamoki was kidnapped from a bus stop where he was waiting for a Peshawar-bound bus.

Abdul Razzaq, brother of the deceased, told Dawn that Nawaz was going to Peshawar to buy electronics. He suspected that some outlaws kidnapped and later murdered his brother after snatching cash from him.

Nawaz’s body was spotted lying in a pond near the GT Road by some passersby who informed police about it. Later, Nawaz’s relatives identified the body.

RECOVERED: A bailiff sent by the district and sessions judge recovered a British national from the illegal custody of Cantonment police and produced him in the court on Monday.

Kashif Shehzad of Bangla Naiabadi, Ghakhar Town, was reportedly picked by CIA staff police from his house without registration of any case against him. The police also impounded his car. Kashif’s family had moved the court against his detention.

Judge Iftikhar Husain Shah has summoned the SHO, investigation officer and the moharrar concerned on Tuesday (today).
