BISP launch in Punjab

LAHORE, Jan 11: The Benazir Income Support Programme was formally launched in Punjab on Sunday.

BISP Chairperson and MNA Farzana Raja, while addressing a ceremony, said that so far 129,000 women had been given financial support since October last.

She said that some 1.7 million families would benefit from this programme.

At the ceremony which was also attended by Federal Minister for Social Welfare and Special Education Samina Ghurki, 300 people were given Rs 3000 each under the programme.—APP
