KARACHI, Jan 14: Four ships carrying 2,145 (TEUs) containers, 37,214 tons iron ore, 38,000 tons diesel oil and 9,824 tons palm oil, were accommodated berths at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Iron Ore and Coal Berth, Fotco Oil Terminal and Multi-Purpose Terminal, respectively, while two more ships with containers and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
A total of seven ships, namely CV Maersk Ohio, MV Super Star III, MV Sargodha, MV Yakima Princes, MT New Setokaze, MT STX Ace-II and MT Atromitos are currently occupying berths to load, offload containers, cement, rice, wheat, palm oil, diesel oil and iron ore, respectively, during the report period.
Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port where a cargo volume of 88,503 tons, comprising 77,460 tons imports and 11,043 tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,145 containers (TEUs), was handled during the last 24 hours.—APP
