FAISALABAD, Jan 15: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) will buy two megawatts (MW) from the Shakar Ganj Sugar Mills.

Fesco chief Ahmad Saeed Akhtar and Awais Qureshi of the sugar mills signed an agreement at a function on Thursday.

Mr Akhtar said the company was already getting 12MW electricity from the Shakar Ganj Energy Limited, Jhang. He said another 2MW electricity would be added to the Fesco 11 KV system.

He said Fesco was buying surplus energy from private power producers and power plants to bridge the gap between demand and supply in this major load centre of the country. The company gets approximately 52 MW electricity from such producers. He said it is for next 20 years and its price would be linked with gas tariff.

Committee: A five-member divisional committee has been made for educators’ recruitments. This was stated in a meeting held at the commissioner secretariat with Commissioner Zahid Saeed.

The committee consists of District Coordination Officer Saeed Iqbal, MPAs Rana Abdul Rehman, Iftikhar Ahmed and Nazia Rahil. Besides, all executive district officers (education) of Jhang, Toba and Faisalabad will also be the members of the committee.
