KARACHI, Jan 20: The International Relations department of Karachi University under its programme of Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution will organise a seminar on “Implications of Mumbai Terror Attacks” on Jan 21 at 1pm at its conference room. Retired ambassador Mansur Alam will be the key speaker.

Meanwhile, the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences, Karachi University, will hold a workshop on “Nutraceuticals Foods” at the ICCBS auditorium on Wednesday.

The workshop is being jointly organised by the Higher Education Commission and the British Council.

The objective of the workshop is to discuss the importance of functional/bioactive components in nutraceutical foods – edible products possessing effective healing capacity and health promoting effects – and promote their production at industrial scale.

Besides, the conference will highlight relationships between the treatment of diseases and nutraceutical foods.

KU Vice-Chancellor Dr Prizada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will inaugurate the workshop and former chairman of the HEC Dr Attaur Rahman will be the guest of honour at the inaugural ceremony of the workshop.—Agencies
